Just go with Nationwide Flexplus, miles better
Different website.
Yes, but same company. Like RBS and NatWest have different websites, but are the same company.
My renewal came through they wanted £134 (note I didn’t have this in plus / premium, just posting here as seemed most relevant place.)
Anyways rang through to cancel the renewal, he’s banging on about how cheaper companies aren’t reliable, they’re only offering low prices because they don’t have patrols out all over the place. RAC drivers have lots of knowledge, they have over 500 tools in the van blah blah.
Told me best be could do was £100, nah mate please cancel, as I told you I’m getting all the cover you provided for me at the grand total of £26.92 annually. I added on legal protection cover as I know I don’t have that on my normal car insurance, so bumped it up to £46.92.
The company scores well in reviews so I’ve no issues in thinking cheaper cover means a substandard service. So long as a recovery truck shows up, jobs a good one.
We have some RAC 3 year breakdown/warranty combo that you pay over 2 years but it lasts for 3 years. We stop paying in July this year so I’m going to phone them and make sure it’s not going to automatically renew as we don’t want to keep it, also my Mrs lost access to her email account last year so if they send everything through email we won’t know.
Don’t suppose anyone has experience with this specifically?
They put mine up to £190! Going to let it expire as I should have 3 years’ breakdown cover with my car according to the pack that came with the handbook. I’ll just trust that’s indeed the case
feels like this could be it’s own thread
I went with the AA last year since my insurance was with them, but after the absolute binfire of getting them to recover my vehicle after someone came around a blind corner on the wrong side and wrote it off, I won’t touch them again
I’d not even realised or thought about alternative companies for recovery, the only reason it came up was due to my insurance renewal quotes. The comparison site asked if I wanted quotes for breakdown recovery, so that’s when I discovered a whole new world.
I took a policy with a £30 excess, it’s going to be rare that I need to use it and £30 is something I can live without.
