Hi all - Creating a topic for Prosper, which is a Wealth tech based in London. If a topic already exists specifically for Prosper, please flag!
They’re running a really good timebound offer and thought it may be of interest to other personal finance / fintech nerds
" By transferring at least £20,000 into cash or investments held with Prosper by 1 September 2025, you can join an exclusive group of members enjoying zero platform fees for the next ten years."
That’s not a bad deal, trying to find if there’s any catches. Does the transfer have to have completed before September 1st? Some providers are very slow to transfer out
I dont know if the transfer being initiated would be sufficient to get the offer.. i would imagine so
I transferred my pension with them and as you say… mixed! My PensionBee was done in a couple of weeks and another (i forget the provider) wasn’t much longer. My WTW pension however was catastrophic! Prosper were very helpful, but WTW took the best part of 8 months.
For anyone wondering I asked if the transfer had to be completed by September 1st and got a reply saying it has to be initiated by then and completed within 6 months
Opened an account last Tuesday, no progress for a week just a message in the app that they were “checking details”.
Messaged support on Tuesday asking what the delay was and received an email a few hours later saying my account was open and got a response on chat that there was an “oversight in my application in the team process”.
Then started a transfer from Trading212 in to Prosper but haven’t had any confirmation and nothing in the app to show a transfer is in progress.
I doubt that it’s an issue at T212’s end. I just transferred my S&S ISA from T212 to NatWest and it only took three days, I’ve never had a S&S ISA transfer so quickly.
Follow up, still hadn’t received any sort of information and nothing visible in the app about the transfer so I asked on chat. 5 hours later I received a reply saying it looks like the transfer failed to come through to their systems properly so could I try submitting it again.
Think I’m done with Prosper, asked them to close my ISA and delete my account
I think personally you’re overlooking the Trust and validation that comes with a Financial Planner. For a lot of people, they can use Gemini and get perfectly accurate and reasonable financial planning but won’t have the trust and confidence to implement their plans without speaking to someone qualified to sign it off. My two cents
