Plastic free cards and general financial ethics

I’m wondering if Monzo have any plans for a plastic free card?

This is something that has previously been raised, but we haven’t had any recent updates. I wonder if @anon87982363 has any further info he can share?

Recycled or biodegradable plastic cards

I like to try and reduce the amount of disposable plastic I use, for several reasons. One thing that is unavoidable at the moment is bank cards, which have to be replaced every few years. I believe that one or two banks have used non-PVC based cards. Has looked into options for using a more sustainable material for the debit cards? I wonder if it’s now possible to make them from recycled plastic or a plastic that biodegrades (say, after 10 years)?

Save the world? Monzo cards that are not made with plastic?

Looks like Mastercard is now looking in to more sustainable cards. Maybe Monzo should ask if they can pilot alternative cards, or be involved in some way?

In terms of general ethics, as others have said Monzo doesn’t currently invest in other companies.

I’d love to know more about what Monzo do with investing monies and that the information is accessible for all customers.

Monzo have a transparency dashboard that addresses several issues, including their investments. In particular, investment is addressed on the ethics page (linked from the dashboard).
