I had issues with RBS once they are now much better and currently who I use. also Natwest and nationwide didn’t offer them on their basic accounts without jumping through hoops when I last looked into it maybe 2 years ago.
“Basic Bank Accounts” are a special type of account that big banks have to offer to those who can’t get a standard free current account for various reasons such as having a very poor credit rating.
They offer fewer services than a standard current account - you can’t use an overdraft and they don’t come with cheque books - but any standard free current account (from a legacy bank) should come with one (or offer the option of one)
