📰 Startup names and copyright, because Mondo is now called Monzo - StartupItalia 🇮🇹

Great to see Monzo gaining international coverage (in Italy :it:):

Google Translate version here. (Note: Google translates Mondo as ‘the World’!)

I particularly liked:

Mondo, oggi Monzo, è una delle più interessanti tra le banche che hanno vita solo su mobile.

Which Google insists means:

World, today Monzo, it is one of the most interesting among the banks that lives only on the mobile.

I’m guessing a more accurate translation from lingua Italiana would be:

Monzo, formerly World Mondo, is one of the most interesting among mobile-first banks.

Mondo is the Italian word for World. I mean, definitely Italian and NOT Spanish! as I’ve been reading time ago in a old post of this community.

Mondo, oggi Monzo, è una delle più interessanti tra le banche che hanno vita solo su mobile.

Mondo, today [now] Monzo, is one of the most interesting among “mobile-only” banks.

It was a name the team picked out about just over a year ago and doesn’t have any particular significance (of course, it means ‘world’ in Spanish though! :es:)
