Monzo US, do they have a future?

I have been with Monzo for a couple years now in the US. With the addition of pro and a lot of people leaving now, what does the future look like in the US? The road map on the US website hasn’t seen any movement in a long while, seems like they are about to throw in the towel. I have been waiting for three days for a reply within the app chat feature.

People regularly analyse data and reports on here and it appears the US is doing well. Where are you seeing lots of people leaving? Or do you just mean in your social circle?

If it’s the roadmap that makes you believe this, I personally wouldn’t put so much emphasis on it. When Monzo was new-ish in the UK it was something they regularly maintained but as they scaled with more teams, ever shifting priorities etc, it became a challenge to keep updated and it was eventually discarded. If it hasn’t been updated in a while, I suspect the same announcement that they’re no longer going to update it, will be imminent for the US.

I’ve seen a lot of people on discord and reddit exiting Monzo.

I’d take that with a pinch of salt. People are never going to come on there and own up to being caught with Crypto trading. The real number of acquisitons v loss is probably very different…

I think uncertain. As you will know, the US banking world is very different to EU/GB - and so is the business model. My gut feeling is that they’ve (Monzo) stalled a little here and are working out what to do next. I think that can also be applied to EU expansion.

So, to summarise, someone in Monzo knows exactly what the future in the US and EU looks like, but we don’t know about it and are unlikely to on here, so it’l fall into speculation canyon.
