Hi all - I had an email asking if I would like to support Monzo by carrying out a 60 minute online interview where I will need to share my phone screen. Im happy to support my bank but need to ensure that this isn’t a scam and this really is Monzo ill be talking to and sharing feedback and info. The email was from mail@research.monzo.com - any support to identify if true or a scan before my call is appreciated - thanks
Seems legit: Emails from Monzo
I wouldn’t do that. If I get a call from somebody who says they’re the bank, I just hang up and call the bank.
If it were me I’d be looking at the headers to see if it passed DKIM and SPF checks. Mails to research.monzo.com are sent via Mailgun and mails from research.monzo.com should only originate from Mailgun, according to the SPF record for that domain.
It wouldn’t guarantee that it was genuine but would go at least some way towards it.
Great way to encourage customers to fall for potential phising scams.
I would say that it’s likely to be genuine, even with the DKIM failure. Only Monzo themselves can confirm its authenticity, though.
Hey @nathgrigg1974
This is a genuine Monzo email address but if you’re ever uncertain, you can reach out to the team through the in app chat who would be able to confirm this
