Needing a card reader sounds like a very likely cause of this issue!
Hi Jami,
Intrigued as to how you plan on showing the transaction feed for the credit card within the monzo app.
Any mockups or early details you can share on how this will look? Will it be similar to the CA feed or more like a click to see a feed similar to that of the Pot History on Android?
We’re still working it out. To start, we’re just going to show the last few transactions as text inline on the Card detail page, so we can get some feedback on the quality of the data. They won’t do anything, just be listed.
Longer term, our hope is for the transactions to be similar to a native Monzo transaction in terms of what you can do with them (categorise, bill split, etc), just without as much finesse when it comes to the metadata (things like shop location won’t be possible)
Where the transaction feed for external accounts goes will be shaped a lot by the New Navigation project, so for now we’ll keep things separate. (I do like the idea of being able to swipe between accounts, pots, and credit cards on the Home tab, but we’ll see!)
Sounds good.
I also really like this idea, would really turn Monzo into my money hub.
My app was out of date, it’s okay now for credit limit.
However tapping the card then going to disconnect causes the app to crash and close.
Both Halifax and Lloyds credit cards showing up correctly for me in the iOS app, with up-to-date balance and credit limit
We have a fix for that crash, it’ll be in next Monday’s update. The crash happens when you try to remove a card whilst it’s being fetched. This is most likely to happen if you open the app then immediately go to remove a card. It you let your app finish updating, then remove - it should be fine.
I’m up just gonna put this out there: I don’t like the colour coding on the progress bar for the available balance.
- visually, the colours are meh
- financially, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s green if your balance is zero, it seems to be amber for for everything else. I guess it might be red for <=0 remaining but I haven’t seen it. So I have one green line, one amber with 98% available, and one amber with about 25% remaining.
So, suggestion. Either,
- forget about the colours
- make the each bar fade from red (on the left) to green (on the right), like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/adTMVCYCjK2NjdEX8
I think it should only turn amber/red if continuing at the current spending rate would take you overbudget in that Summary period.
Thanks for the feedback on the colour of the credit bar. Right now we’re doing it this way to align with how overdrafts and loans are visualised - so there is a consistency in visual language when scanning a bunch of accounts.
The issue with my current account balance happened again (see screenshot).
Im not complaining just not sure if you wanted to know it happened again
I’m happy to provide more information if it will help track this down. I’ll leave it connected but take the values with a pinch of salt
Just added my card as I found through the help section it’s been expanded beyond Barclaycard.
I know it’s in the pipeline but would also love AMEX integration as I use that as my main credit card.
I think a few feature pairings would make this really powerful;
-
dedicated pots for Credit Payments (and auto move money when a new transaction comes in) and the pot move being assigned a budget.
-
sub categories for budgets too - to allow more specificity
If these two things happened I’d be much more able to use Monzo fully for budgeting and look to drop YNAB.
Great steps here though
Really liking that I can view my credit cards balance in app now. Looking forward to this extending to more banks so I can have them all in one view
Popped you post in here to keep things tidy @christian.moore88
Would it be possible to show the cards in the icon rather than the bank logo? It’s perfectly sized to show images of the cards.
For the sake of interest and fleshing the idea out, would you be happy with a generic looking (say) HSBC card?
Their own app does not show what the card looks like and I imagine there will be differences by date
Hi Michael. I don’t see this feature under Monzo Labs on iOS and I don’t see any credit cards in app either. Would love to see my Nationwide Select Credit Card balance in Monzo app. What am I missing? Thanks.
Make sure your app is up to date and check the Accounts page. Scroll to the bottom to connect a card.
Or, search ‘connect credit’ in the help search for a direct link.
Hello! We’ve removed the feature from Labs ahead of a gradual rollout. If you DM me your Monzo account email address I’ll turn it on for you manually
Thanks redshift! Found in through a help search. Couldn’t find it anywhere else! All working now!
