I’d be interested in how this is going to work - will it just transfer a set amount into a bill pot every month, or allow you to top up a bill pot? For example it would be nice to have a bill pot always be at £900 after payday, even though bills might be say £800 - so there’s always £100 in there to handle a bill being higher or a irregular bill, and every month you just top it up, so it never goes above £900 - otherwise it will slowly build up over time. (That’s how I have my API stuff working at the moment - I use the pot goal as a goal and it transfers in pot goal - pot balance on payday)
I hope percentages are a thing
But could live with amounts I guess
Amounts are great for things like bills and percentages of salary would be awesome for savings. As with most things though I expect more complexity to come with further development.
From taking a look across the past few posts, this will allow you to split your salary into certain amounts, and distribute them into different pots automatically?
We assume so, yeah. Nothing confirmed yet though. Looks like you can set automatic sorting rules for when your salary is paid into your account. Probably into pots.
And more importantly Billing pots
I wonder how it will deal with bills that have variable amounts.
In what sense?
Whether the bills pot will have an overhead in it to account for bills that vary in amount.
The bill pots that are present in labs allow you to assign a DD/SO to be debited from a pot. If there isn’t enough, it takes the additional out of your main account.
I am aware, there has been much talk of this. But my question is still unanswered: it’s about the forthcoming “Spending Sorted” feature.
This just likely lets you split your salary into pots, little to do with how much money is forecast to come out of them I’d say

Well… Since you asked ![]()
I’m not sure when this will go live but it should look a little something like this ![]()
How does it display a bill that’s been paid does it fade a bit?

Sorry I missed this!
It doesn’t… But that’s a sweet idea
going to ask if that’s possible!
(it may be possible but there’s a chance that it could be confusing - i.e. if you have multiple payments on the same DD in a month and we grey it out each time
AND we have greyed out payments on your feed which suggest upcoming payments as opposed to paid ones
but I’ll see if the team can think of a sweet way to significantly which bills are paid
)
Update: this has rolled out to all staff
it’s on my actual account now and no longer says 1st Jan - 31st Jan during October
Hopefully it’ll be worth more people soon - so long as we don’t catch any show stopping bugs
thanks! how about if multiple DD a month you could highlight as second, third, fourth payment with a little red/green number next to it?
The left to pay is showing on iOS, looks great, nice little feature that goes a long way!
