Monzo for Android - Beta Channel Changelog šŸ•µļøā€ā™‚ļø

Liking the update! :honey_pot:

Does your Pulse actually ā€˜work’? Mine just shows a static image of a Pulse that isn’t mine (I don’t have an overdraft) and it doesn’t scroll back when I go through my transactions like it does on iOS and you can’t tap and it’ll jump to different points in time.

I have noticed that it appears that Android is now using the same Merchant Database as iOS because the oddity I posted in the other thread seems to have gone away.

Just a little bug I’ve noticed with Pots. Looks like it defaults to adding your entire balance into a Pot which probably isn’t the best idea!

Those with Notifications OCD, skip past the screenshot, you have been warned!

I like the suggested initial Pot, don’t remember doing this in iOS but I might have forgotten!

The only slight niggle I have is that the suggested ones have an Emoji in them but this isn’t translated to the actual Pot that is created. For example, the Rainy Day Pot I created didn’t have the rain cloud.

No its same as yours but the graph does seems to be as my usage.

I don’t think it defaults to the entire balance it seems to have done your entire because balance was below Ā£100 for me default amount was Ā£100 but with something else option it was I think Ā£25.but I do think default amount could just be 0

Mine appears to do the same

Mine was asking for Ā£100 so I presume it’s that or your balance if it’s less.

I have the Android Beta (current account not prepay or preview CA) but no Pulse (not that I am missing it LOL) and no sign in settings of how to turn Pulse on or off. How do I get it?

If you use a launcher such as Nova, you add it via Widgets > Activities > ā€˜Monzo Developer Options’

You’re not missing a whole lot

Thanks Bradley

I might be having a dumb moment, but can’t figure out a way to change the pot thumbnail after creation.

Yes you can’t actually and also you can’t change the order they are listed. We should remember it’s only the first interpretation and will improve over the time.

Changing the order would be good. I did this manually (to move savings to the bottom of the list) by deleting my savings pot and recreating it.

Whoa! I just tried this, and it worked…

…But I don’t have the beta app!

This works within the regular stable app. I now have the Pulse graph. :+1:

Not sure why latest beta update missed a major change. PIN reminder for Android changed with this update now you don’t get that chat message instead you will see this:

I really don’t like this long-winded process of ID verification just to view PIN. I just checked my Barclays app and they only ask for expiry date and CVV for same PIN reminder in-app. Not sure why Monzo believe a selfie is the only way for every security check.

Is it possible they deliberately didn’t note it since they don’t want people just trying it out? It sounds like they’re using the OnFido verification process, which they have to pay for each time.

I don’t think it’s something they should hide but my beef is with this process I just don’t like this whole selfie verification for statements and now for PIN. I mean if Monzo are feeling app is not secure enough do something about that why make simple things complicated.

The Barclays app is protected by a login PIN, and once logged in you are considered trusted. Monzo only have TouchID/FaceID, and neither is ready on for Android yet - so this is the alternative? I prefer this to just asking for a DoB.
