My level of remaining optimism in the face of relentless historic disappointment is beyond epic.
I have to commend you for keeping the fight going. Based on Conjecture, it’s really clear that the joint account implementation is a total dumpster fire and Monzo don’t really know what to do with it.
My hope is that full ground up re-engineering will make it work in a way that will also work with the new plans, but who knows.
Good luck!
Yes I also constantly look at the extra plan to work out if it includes joint accounts but it doesn’t .
I would find this benefit extremely helpful and wish it would be rolled out to joint accounts also.
I really can’t understand why it isn’t offered.
Yes I was dissapionted that custom categories in joint accounts don’t work even with premium. I assume there is a fundamental flaw in the data structure or something, an explanation would help it it is impossible.
Also, the way pots work I want to payment into the pot to count as spending and then. say I pay a big bill for the car, that is not expenditure as it has already gone into the pot. Surely, that is the whole point of pots, to smooth out expenditure?
The other way of thinking about this is that when you put money into a pot, for whatever reason, it hasn’t been spent and is still available money for you to do with whatever. So you can only correctly categorise it when it is actual expenditure (from the pot to pay for the big car bill)
Just passing by to check again. Maybe in 2026 or 28, right?
See you in a few years.
Hope to have the virtual cards on the Monzo joint soon. Any idea when this upgrade will be done?
Not this year.
Would happily upgrade and move several accounts to monzo if custom categories were implemented for joint accounts, but for now that’s a blocker, and I’ll have to keep doing my own bookkeeping.
Until you’re able to use features like virtual cards/custom categories and get improved interest rates on join savings pots it’s completely useless to me. I’d have subscribed years ago otherwise.
Why not a special joint version of premium without the perks ? Or only include perks for both people ? Or special tiers that I include 2 individuals and their join account in one.
It blows my mind that joint accounts.werent included in the revamp of premium.
Around 2019 I worked for a construction firm and asked to be paid into my Monzo account. The Payroll manager came downstairs, up to my desk, and said..
‘Are you sure you want to put your money into a Mickey Mouse account’ followed by ‘Well, I hope you know what you are doing’

I couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of closing and reopening accounts periodically. Just leave them dormant ![]()
Then they’re always there when you need a backup or change your mind again in the future.
Sorry if this has already been reported but I have a bug where Mortgage information in Credit Insights is showing older information than that on the main mortgage tab.
I’ve tried refreshing, closing / reopening the app etc. The next update from TransUnion and Equifax is tomorrow so I’ll report if it changes then.
This is strange - is it just the balance you’re talking about? If so, this could be an edge case where we’ve recently refreshed your mortgage data but credit insights hasn’t yet updated. The two operate on slightly different schedules, so this can theoretically happen for a few days.
Hi. Yes it was just the balance. It seems to have corrected itself now as the credit reports have updated so I can’t retest the behaviour. It did seem to have been incorrect for a few days as you say. Is there a way for one (the more recent) to update the other to keep them consistent?
I am putting my money into a Mickey Mouse account ; saving for a trip to Orlando ![]()
Huh?
Oh dear ![]()
The title of this thread doesn’t seem to match the content but I’ll stick this here anyway…
I have a plus account currently as well as a joint account with my wife. The fact I get a higher interest rate on my personal savings pots than the joint account seems crazy.
Is there anything in scope to change this so if I upgrade to Max, this would give the joint account the higher savings rate too?
