I like to try and reduce the amount of disposable plastic I use, for several reasons. One thing that is unavoidable at the moment is bank cards, which have to be replaced every few years. I believe that one or two banks have used non-PVC based cards. Has looked into options for using a more sustainable material for the debit cards? I wonder if it’s now possible to make them from recycled plastic or a plastic that biodegrades (say, after 10 years)?

Save the world? Monzo cards that are not made with plastic?

Probably never going to happen, but it would be a bold and awesome move if you made your cards from wood or metal (for example). Save our planet

Plastic free cards and general financial ethics

Hi there I’ve been researching new ethical banks as I want to ditch my NatWest one. It’s been a toss-up between Monzo and Triodos. Monzo have such user friendliness so I’ve signed up. But Triodos are really on the case with their investment ethics, transparency and commitment to improvement in all areas of energy and waste etc. I’m wondering if Monzo have any plans for a plastic free card? I’d love to know more about what Monzo do with investing monies and that the information is accessible …
