macOS Discussion

Anyone here traded-in a mac? I’ve kept mine in perfect condition and accidentally bumped it with the top of my monitor trying to disconnect it earlier, now has a kinda noticeable dent and scratch on the top - actual functionality isn’t affected at all. Would that disqualify it?

No, They accept wear and tear

I am so tempted to trade in my M1 Mac, For the new M3 because the screen is bigger, however I have a feeling that it will get used just the same as my M1. Which at the moment is basically browsing the Internet And a little bit of video editing for my Horse riding clips

I wonder if macOS 15.0.1 will fix this obvious Screen Time bug:

As well as actually being asleep until after 6am, I didn’t start using it until at least 8am.

Ah! A fellow sleep coder!

This year really is one of the messiest software years for Apple that I can recall in all my time using their products. I can only hope it’s the result of rushing 2025 software plans to launch in 2024 in order to keep pace with AI competition, and that it’s not indicative of something more foundational.

Snow leopard releases across the board next year please, Apple!

I’m having some issues with my Thunderbolt dock with MacOS 15.0.1 as well. When I wake up my Mac, I need to unplug the USB-C cable and plug it back in for the display to start working :man_facepalming:

Hoping for an update that fixes it soon.

I’ve never really been a coder; scripter, definitely (perl, bash, etc.).

I used to have to configure Cisco routers to do challenging things and I remember once coming up with part of an IOS config in a dream
