Lloyds Banking Group Chat šŸŽ

Used Lloyds Ultra at 7 different locations across Europe on a cruise as well as the daily cruise ship spending hold, no issues with any blocks.

My ClearScore app now says I’m pre-approved for all the Lloyds credit cards so I’m hoping I can switch to the World Elite finally. Planning to get another month out of the 1% then will try and swap.

Decided to just switch to World Elite now.

Both cards are showing in the app as open.

Anyone who has done the card swap before know how long it takes to all move over? I assume the Lloyds Ultra cashback will be paid into the World Elite account once Ultra is closed.

Mine switched over overnight.

I didn’t move from Ultra, it was the other cashback card they had, paid into my World Elite when I switched.

Lloyds issue AMEX cards?

They certainly have in the past. I had a Lloyds combined Mastercard (or VISA, can’t remember) and AMEX credit card account which gave you both a MC or VISA card and an AMEX card. I still have them somewhere but not immediately to hand. I think they rewarded you with Air Miles.

I had the Lloyds Avios Duo as well, but that closed I believe 7+ years ago. Can’t imagine they’d still have the AMEX wording in the app now left over from then…

They are even moving away from Mastercard

I’ve just had another Ā£6 or so added to my Ultra cashback total after a couple of transactions cleared yesterday, so I guess I’m still on 1% despite being almost two weeks over my first year and receiving no emails/letters/messages whatsoever about the card

Lloyds have launched a savings bond that pays you the interest upfront.

Kind of like what Stoa Money is doing?

Who knows :man_shrugging:t3: never heard of them.

So no, it’s an upfront interest payment for fixing your savings. Not some gimmick gift card scam.

Even an extra 0.20% isn’t enough to sway me. Upfront is a novel idea, but I see even fusty old NS&I are now offering ~5% AER on monthly income bonds

Just noticed Lloyds removed the references to the £15 a month fee for the Premier account, and if you pay in £5000 a month the fee is refunded.

The new wording suggests eligibility of Ā£5000 a month paid in, or Ā£100k deposited, without reference to the fee, or the guidance that multiple payments can make up the Ā£5000…

I had a large-ish transaction on my Lloyds Ultra card last month, which got refunded, but not until after the statement date.

I’ve not spent much on the card this month, so was a bit surprised to see they’ve collected the current balance - I’d expected them to take the full amount from of last statement (and leave me in credit), whereas instead it’s sitting at a nice round 0.

Is this a standard thing? I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

Standard thing, refunds reduce your balance. Also depending on when it clears and when the DD is supposed to be collected.

If you’d spent more so your current balance was higher than the statement balance, they’d probably have taken the payment on the statement. But if your balance was less than that they wouldn’t charge an amount that would put you in credit.

fair enough - I’m sure I’ve had cards before where a refund didn’t reduce the direct debit payment.
