I’m Matt, an iOS engineer here at Monzo, and I’m really excited to tell you about a feature that makes managing your money even faster - Shortcuts integration for Monzo!
What’s new?
We’ve added native Shortcuts support to the Monzo app. This means you can access your most common money tasks as iOS shortcuts that open directly to the relevant parts of the app, available in the Shortcuts app and Spotlight search.
From Spotlight: Just swipe down on your iOS home screen and search for “Monzo” you’ll see Monzo shortcuts appear as App Actions you can tap to jump straight in.
From the Shortcuts app: Find our shortcuts under the Monzo section. From there you can:
Add them to your device’s Home Screen as quick-launch icons
Include them in your own custom automations
If you have multiple accounts (like a personal, joint or business account), you’ll be asked which one you’d like to use - then you’re taken straight to the right screen.
Bonus: These shortcuts also work with Siri! Just say things like “Monzo transfer money” or “Monzo move money” if you prefer using your voice.

I only have one account, and get this which I feel is a bit irrelevant, is there a way for the app to talk to the shortcuts to understand I don’t have any other accounts?
I thought it would just jump me straight in the app after tapping Pay or Move.
I’d love if I could pre-fill the payee (from saved) and amount. For example, with a cleaner it may not be consistent enough to use a standing order - sometimes one of us cancels, sometimes they work an extra hour - but I could create my own shortcut for the common case and attach it to a reminder or similar.
I’ve been playing around with shortcuts on iOS 27. I particularly like the fact that you can create a shortcut that is based on a card tap. You can even specify specific Categories and Merchants. For example I can currently select the automation “When <monzo_card> is tapped” then run a shortcut. I’ve already created a shortcut with the available Monzo ‘Request money’ action so I tried that out. I think other flows would be very useful. Not sure what can be done here but thinking when tapping a Monzo card if it was possible to be asked “Do you want to split?” or “Take money from this pot” and then be able to select the pot it would be very useful. That would depend on having some of these other shortcuts available. For Request money I see that some of transaction details are available so there is definitely more that can be done there. I currently just have a Personal account, but for someone with both this and a Joint account you currently can set up an automation to move money from one account to the other based on a tap and then a merchant, category, question or other variable as to whether it happens.
