Get a breakdown of your monthly spending target 🎯

The way to work around this is to get paid into a separate bank account every four weeks, work out proportionally what your annual salary would be divided by 12, then pay yourself (into your ‘proper’ account) this amount every month.

Or do that  with a Monzo pot, I do something similar to move my “pay day” to the first of each month.

This isn’t as wild a solution as it might sound. You do something similar if you run a small company and pay yourself - except the extra account is the company account. It’s definitly a way to fix it.

The whole four weekly thing confuses me. I get paid on the 23rd (or earlier if it’s a weekend) so when I did use Monzo it just tracked from that date until the next time that date appeared in the calendar.

Am I missing something around how that doesn’t fix the challenge with trends et al.?

There are many who get paid every 28 days in the public sector. Basically you are paid 13 times a year and it would be for example every fourth Wednesday of the month. I am becoming disappointed with trends, balance etc because of the lack of this functionality. So this gets my vote to be fixed within trends, without it trends is not a useful tool at all.

So I’m finding targets is rendered useless when I make one large purchase like a holiday, I’ve over spent right away. It’s marked as “exclude from spending” but it doesn’t also exclude it from targets which seems silly to me.

You can choose what categories you can include in target, no? It’s not the same as “exclude from spending”, you need to do it in the targets tab.

I agree, it should be one for all ideally.

Yes, if you go on the screen to edit your targets and change then you can! Cheers.
It’s very unintuitive. If I tap on the holiday category on targets it gives me the option to exclude it from spending… but not targets which is a bit silly.

Shame that there are no custom categories on the joint account. Still.

Targets request. Let me set an overall target for my Personal account and then a separate one for my Joint account. The same for any other accounts or pots too!

Currently I can only have one top level target/budget and it sucks. As everything gets combined, or a lot of spending gets no budget/target.

Second request… If we can get the above then I’d also like to set different category budgets per account. E.g. a larger ‘eating out’ budget on my joint account.

Third request. Let me hide the graph on the Targets tab.
Until I can set my balance as the target it means nothing to me as my ‘target’ spend changes month to month, sometimes even mid month and is all down to how much money I make available to spend by moving money into and out of pots.
