Fees for paying by card to be banned - The Guardian

Is this the same as small shops charging a small fee if the bill comes to under £5/10? I guess they can combat this by refusing to take cards, but then it means losing out if the customer doesn’t have any cash on them

One annoying think about the card fee removal is shops that did charge 20-50p now have min spends ranging £5-10

One place had min spend of £5 unless paying contactles. Any idea why?
