Depending on your useage, you might want to look at Utilita. They charge a higher-than-average rate per unit, but they don’t have a standing charge.
This is obviously not going to be a good option if you have a really high useage, but if you use little energy then it’s worth looking into. For example, I only use my gas supply for a couple of months through the year for central heating. Other suppliers would be making me pay the standing charge 365 days a year, even though I’m not using it for ~300 days!
They offer smart meters, too. I’ve got one and the app alongside it has been fantastic.
