Does Monzo offer a joint account?

Ah I missed it :disappointed_relieved:

When do we find out? I did it 30 seconds after the tweet ha

Same here! Fingers crossed! Other half opened his account today in preparation

Missed it too. Rubbish. Look forward to seeing the user feedback on here!

Is this any info on spending abroad on the joint account?
Will this be separated from your individual £200 withdrawal allowance? Or will each holder get a personal and joint withdrawal allowance?
Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Will the current account switch be active for the test? I’m currently using my starling account as a makeshift joint account but would like to just switch all that over if I get picked for the test.

I don’t think you can use CASS to move from a non joint account to a joint.
Since the CASS service has already been tested with personal accounts I’d imagine it’s less likely there will be a public test for joint as it’s largely the same but that doesn’t mean no, I guess we will find out soon enough .
Looking forward to seeing some data on how many joint accounts are opened in the first week or two  .

You can do sole to joint via CASS but not joint to sole. I did it when creating my joint account with my current provider.

The service will support the full switch of a current account from one Payment Institution to another current account at another Payment Institution. It will support an account switch from:
 Sole account to sole account
 Sole account to joint account
 Joint account to joint account
For sole to sole, and joint to joint, switches of personal current accounts, the same account holder(s) must be named for both the old account and the new account. The rule is that for switches of personal current accounts, the account parties for the old account must be included as account parties for the new account. In a sole to joint switch, the new account will have an additional party.

My mistake, the more you know :face_with_monocle:

As far as I know the £200 limit is per person, not per account.

You could theoretically use £100 on your sole and £100 on your joint. Anything after that will be subject to the 3% fee.

Does anyone know if the switch service will work with joint accounts from the off? Very keen to start using it. Initially for food shops and the like and after I’m confident all is well moving my salary and mortgage payments to it!

Very excited to get going!!

Not from the beginning but hopefully not too long after

It will not be available at the launch but Monzo are definitely working on it.

I can confirm they don’t have joint pots.

Could you not do something similar to Curve where you select which card to pay with through apple/android pay on the app. Ie Apple pay uses your currently active card? Rather than having seperates

Yep really hoping that joint pots and CASS is follows the launch of joint accounts pretty quick so I can go #fullmonzo. Also excited for plum integration, hope it works with joint accounts!

When can we get on board with this?

They do have this :point_up_2:

It’s started rolling out for some more test users and going in to labs soon. Check your profile page in account tab and see if it’s there for you. Will be near your contact details section
