In what regard?
Perhaps Starling is attractive to the mature crowd that doesnāt have the bandwagon mentalities. Itās not always about user base but engagment and most of all profit. That which Monzo is severely lacking. Sign ups donāt equal profit nor money in fact just to setup and have a empty account costs Monzo I assume.
Starling arenāt making a profit either tho
Well firstly despite being around for sometime other who have been around less have seemed to been able to get a direction and stick with it. Perhaps this is why Monzo is yet to turn a profit and thanks to a huge cash injection is still standing today.
Ok, and again I will point out that Starling are in the same situation despite them having BaaS and āmatureā customers and a murmuration
Starling are losing more per customer than monzo
You understand how businesses work right? Cause Iām getting the hint you havenāt a clue.
Hey all - Iāve changed the thread title to make it a bit more generic!
And a plea to keep this on topic, please
They definitely do appeal to the older crowd. I think their demographic is heavily skewed towards the older gentlemen. Probably why they act so much like HSBC et al.
Source please
Last yearās accounts. You can find the threads here if you search
Letās not have the Starling discussion in this thread. Thereās one for that hereā¦
⦠Where I suspect this particular discussion has already been had.
Given that this has descended into insults letās close it for now.
If maturity is up for discussion, letās apply some to this thread.
Why close the thread, I would like an explanation on whether the website figures are soon to gain an update?
As feathers stated in their closure reason.
I have no idea what youāre asking. Sorry.
My mistake - I will edit now
This is a community forum. Youād be better placed to contact Monzo directly by email.
Itās Sunday. It depends who is around if you get an answer or not
Also it was correct the last time they updated that page
Define impressive credentials?
Does 2 season of line of Duty count?
Or the new season of BBC coast i just finished or the handful of jobs I have done that are on Netflix at the moment?
Either case I still operate as a business in my first 3 years I made a loss because I invested heavily on new equipment and facilities to further my earning potential at a later point.
A lot of new businesses operate this way.
This is both how Monzo and Starling are operating right now.
I think itās maybe a little harsh to call the 55k number false.
I did a couple of rough calculations below based on the milestone blog posts and the 55k seems in the same ballpark.
The 23 weeks since hitting 2m users: ~57K
The 7 weeks since hitting 3m users: ~45K
Iām interested what time frame do you think is an appropriate period for a company such as Monzo to use to calculate marketing figures?
