Custom timeframe for spending

It would be great to have the ability to set a custom timeframe for reviewing spending. A couple of examples:

  1. set a start and end date and get back all transactions between those dates, as well as the total spend and category totals
  2. set a start and end date, choose a recurring pattern e.g. weekly/bi-weekly or a custom amount of days and get back a list of totals for each occurrence e.g. 4 weeks shown as a list of 4 items like so:

Mon May 1st - Sun May 7th £50
Mon May 8th - Sun May 14th £65
… etc

…which can then be drilled down further into categories for each particular list item

I’m guessing you’re looking for something like this?

As you can see, it’s been designed but not implemented yet & as far as I know, we don’t know when it will be.

I have a feeling that this sort of thing might be difficult to implement without missing some user’s requirements. So you might have to stick with exporting the data (not yet available for Android users) & doing this analysis in Excel for now. A third party developer could build an app, like these, to enable this sort of reporting, once the API is ready though or I could be wrong about this being unlikely

Hi Alex,

I actually meant as an extension of the existing ‘spending’ screen which is more of a broad retrospective/comparative tool, as opposed to the narrow search feature - seeing as the spending screen is doing this already, just that the timeframe is currently fixed in months.

The same interface could even be used, just that it uses the specified timeframe rather than being fixed to months.

Another great addition would be to average the timeframe and category totals of each occurrence.

Ah ok, well that functionality has been designed too
