Oh so Curve or the company double-charged you? I’d first contact Curve.
I’d start with skiddle. If they’ve no valuable input, then move on to Curve, then Monzo. That’s the direction a genuine transaction would go.
Is it normal that the ATM is asking me for a six or seven digit personal number when i insert the card? I didn’t withdrawl any money but it seemed it accepted any number i throwed at it, no PIN asked.
And is it true that witdrawals and payments are recognized by my bank as cash advances?
For the PIN you can just introduce the 4 digits and press to confirm, ignore the other spaces.
As for the cash advance question, it obviously only applies when talking about credit cards and depends on the issuer. For my credit cards, which are all Portuguese, some of them will not recognise it as cash advance but even those who will do not trigger any cash advance fees, so there’s no downside with withdrawing from them using Curve.
Even with revolut, Curve withdrawals don’t count to Revolut’s withdrawal limit
If you mean cash advances against credit cards, I believe that your card issuer will treat Curve ATM withdrawals as cash advances.
Anyone have an issue with support?
I tried to close my account twice and had very limited response.
I’ve decided to keep my account open now (guess I’m lucky they didn’t respond).
However now I can’t add my Monzo card I can add other cards but when I get to Monzo it gets all the way to verify and update but the button is greyed out.
I haven’t received a response from support just emails saying they are sorry it’s taking so long to reply.
Just asking to see if anyone is having similar issues.
Hey, I had the exact same issue with adding Monzo card to Curve today. What fixed it for me was to choose ‘change card image’ on the curve app. Once I chose the red Monzo image I was able to verify the card with curve.
Thank you. That fixed it

Curve seemed to have a moment though.
Guessing the random amount transaction will refund at some point.
They’ve been very slow recently. I guess there’s been a lot of catching up to do
I have 575 reward points. I’m right in thinking that’s £5.75 to spend, aren’t I? I can’t find anything in Curve help.
And I just have to set the reward card as the underlying card?
That’s right.
Yeah you just switch to it in app and spend away.
Cool. Ta very much. ![]()
Use settle up or Monzo.me to pay it straight into your current account!
Does that work?
Tbh, I haven’t tried it with rewards for a while, because there haven’t been any
, but Curve with settleup and monzo.me has worked just fine recently (since the Curve relaunch, for example).
There was a whole thread discussing Curve and settleup on the Starling forum - RIP. I’m surprised Starling hasn’t locked it down yet - Monzo radically tightened up the topup limits, for pretty obvious reasons, but Starling seems to have left it
Be careful with an underlying credit card though - some will treat the transactions as cash advances, eg Natwest, Tesco, possibly others
Splendid idea!
Starling don’t allow you to top up by card now, I think the limits are reasonably low for settle up but doing so from a credit card would be treated as a cash advance now, since curve (rightly) were made to forward the merchant data. Definitely use the reward card to pay into your account though.
The settle up allowance is £250 per day, so pretty generous.
I have used Curve with MBNA, aqua, HSBC and Halifax credit cards for settle up over the last six months with no cash advance fees
