The last I heard, it wasn’t to do with it not working, but that the onboarding flow not working for multiple accounts. The app doesn’t know the different states of accounts - you’re either being on boarded, or you aren’t. That’s why Oliver (the head of engineering) has access to it, as he could complete the onboarding, knowing that.
Really looking forward to being able to open a US account. Recently moved from the UK where I had an account and loved it. The banking system is so behind here I am desperate for a Monzo to help with budgeting. Added bonus will be transferring between my US and UK Monzo accounts instantly and hopefully for free!
I will be moving from London to New York in the new year and would love to try out a Monzo US account. I have been a Monzo UK customer since the Mondo Pre-Paid days and am #FullMonzo with Joint and Personal accounts now. I plan to maintain my UK account when I move so if there are any opportunities to be a test UK and US account user I’d be more than happy to play guinea-pig 
I attended a Monzo USA launch event about a month and a half ago - I went in expecting I wouldn’t get a US card as it said on the invite current UK members ineligible - however they gave me a US beta card anyway and said to hang on to it because the feature have both a US and UK account in the app would be going public “in a couple of weeks”. As mentioned above its been available for staff for quite some time already.
But, given it’s still not here I’m wondering should keep waiting, or if I would be better off giving the US beta card to a friend who could probably put it to better use?

“US Accounts for Eligible UK Customers” is apparently live now. There haven’t been any recent posts in this thread, so I assume @hugemittons and others have been able to open a US account alongside their existing UK one?

Not clear from the Trello board is who counts as ‘eligible’.

Kind of on topic, do you use your UK card in the USA?
Reason I ask is we are coming to LA in May and I’m a touch concerned about card acceptance
Monzo is widely accepted.

I’ve travelled to California for about 8 weeks over the past couple of years (about 3 of those in LA) using only a Monzo card (minus for car rentals/hotel deposits, in which case a CC was used). I haven’t personally had anywhere not accept Monzo.
Ah cool. I have Amex for hotel/car, and wife has a visa, but I like my Monzo!
Monzo is a MasterCard - accepted everywhere MasterCard is accepted. I use my UK card at home in New York without any issues.

I have my UK and USA Monzo accounts in the same app now. They enrolled me last week.
