Collected Thoughts on Card Design (Part 2)

0.25% Cashback is a really low rate I feel. Not really worth it in my opinion when you have cards like Lloyds Ultra, AMEX Cashback Platinum, Santander Edge, AMEX Vitality!

Heck even the Co-Op Member Credit Card offers 0.3% uncapped cashback on all spending!!

I have the Amex already, this is more for use in France and where Amex isn’t accepted. The Santander cards are good but not sure I’d use them enough to justify the fee.

You considered the Co-Op Card?

0.3% uncapped cashback on all spending

Monzo and LBG always issue new card numbers whenever the old card expires.

Do you have a current account with them atm?

No, though I have in the past. Avoiding hard searches at the moment until my mortgage completes anyway!

Co-Op though :scream: plus 2.75% FX fees

Very true but its a good cashback card for within the UK.

When I am allowed UK Credit I am thinking of doing all my spending on that card!

Here’s one - the scratches are from light use and simply living in my wallet

That just looks like a heavily heavily used card

Be better with a Chase debit card :joy:

I’ve also had more cashback through Lloyds everyday offers this month than I probably would all year off any of them :joy:

Lloyds Everyday Offers are very generous

They’ll pay the Ā£250 switch reward 40 working days after you complete the switch conditions btw. :money_mouth_face:

What switch reward?

edit: the Lloyds one is ā€œwithinā€ 40 days, assuming that’s down to the 30 days you can choose to switch up to ahead of time, and then the standard 10.

That’s how my first direct cards would go by living in my wallet

Mine came like that straight from the envelope! Was shocked by how low quality the card is.

 Still not exactly sure this is true. My current Lloyds credit card has the same 16 digit number as the first one I got 15 years ago, I just checked, I have them in a drawer. So definitely doesn’t seem to be standard to change it every expiry.

I’ve only been with them since 2018 so maybe the system treats user differently depends on when we become a customer.

Only for debit cards. I’ve been with most of the banks over the years, and none of them have ever changed a credit card number when it’s expired and renewed.

Debit cards, however, usually do change. Most of the number stays the same, but the last one, or two digits are different.
