Yes numerous times. I’m assuming it’ll just come back once Chase have fixed the issue.
Appears they have fixed the problem, my balance is back to normal. I have three entries for each transaction I had issues with though.
Looks like a purchase, reversal, and then another purchase on the activity feed.
I don’t know how this was even possible. Like, was someone messing around with production code?
I’m now seeing this also for the 2 transactions. Still have the warning in the Chase app and Monzo still isn’t picking up new transactions since Tuesday lunchtime for me.
How did this affect those with round-ups switched on, I wonder?
Can we start a gang?
To be fair - the app was shite. I’m glad I closed it down.
Yeah, was it designed by Liz Truss? bandwagon meme
We just need one Uni-Bank. That would be superb…
Never went to Uni
Are you here all week?
A unibank with a unibranch, preferably in London, and with an advert telling us they’re keeping branches open for us.
I think the unibranch should be in a zeppelin that can fly around the country and hover ominously above towns while projecting the Chase logo all over the place.
Right this is it I need to stop posting and edit this paper I’m meant to editing…
You forgot to write ‘stop’. Your head is telling you what you really want to do.
Or this is indicative of the the quality of my editing…
Say that again?
Personally, I close accounts I no longer use. Surely opening and leaving accounts dormant poses a risk for fraud? First Direct for example message you if there’s been no activity on your account for 6+ months, there must be reasons behind this.
The problem is, Chase advised a lot of people they could re-open their accounts at a later date and then changed their rules around this randomly, preventing people from registering for another account.
Banks are proper financial institutions, my view is they should not be collected like Pokémon cards. If people want to close and re-open an account they should be able to do this.
I’ve ended up with double roundups on my debit card transactions.
Edit: sorry that’s cashback, checked roundups and it looks as though roundups have doubled too.
What about any cashback? We did not reclaim cashback as part of the reversal. If the transaction qualified for cashback, you will have earned cashback twice on this transaction, up to the monthly limit.
I’m awaiting a refund on the creditcard. I hope it goes through OK and they don’t repay the amount refunded?
An update on the issue affecting your card transactions
Hi
We emailed you previously about the issue that caused an unexpected refund to one or more of your card transactions on 7 January. We appreciate your patience.
Due to technical limitations, we have to wait for the merchant to ‘post’ or ‘complete’ some of the transaction(s) before your balance can return to normal. This usually takes up to 7 days from the time you made the transaction (it can be up to 30 days for things like hotel bills or car hire). Your balance won’t be back to normal until this happens. The rest of your transactions have been processed correctly.
How can I check I’m back to normal?
When all the transactions have ‘posted’, you should see 2 debit transactions and 1 credit transaction for each affected purchase or ATM withdrawal.
There’s nothing you need to do with these transactions. We’re sorry for any trouble this issue has caused you. We’d like to reassure you that this is not the standard of service we expect to provide, and that we’re working to prevent it happening in the future. If you have any issues as a result of this, please get in touch via ‘Support’ in the app.
Thank you
The Chase team
