Chase UK Chat (Part 1)

Stoozing - thats it.

No, you can’t transfer the money out, that would be a money transfer.

You simply spend on the card but only pay back the minimum. You snooze with the rest of the balance which you set aside instead of paying the card off.

Your credit limit is £3k.

You have £3k in your bank account.

You put your £3k in a savings account.

You spend your credit card £3k limit and pay back the minimum monthly interest free.

As others have highlighted, sadly no, that’s not possible.

I have just had a £6k fixed term saver mature and, coincidentally, been granted a £6k credit limit on my credit card.

Now that fixed saver was for me to spend in 2025, over and above my monthly disposable income. Instead of spending it, I have placed it in a (currently) 5% easy access account, where it will earn interest, while I spend normally on my credit card, paying the minimum monthly payment from my disposable monthly income.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks all.

Get it. Got it. Good!

I might have to try it!

Have a great Christmas and New year. Hopefully, Chase hit me up to try that card.

Monzo used to be far better at doing this. Even when they needed proof the merchant wouldn’t collect the funds it was easy enough to just get support to do it.

It’s those things that I liked about Monzo and as they stopped doing them pushed me away.

Chase support have been quite helpful for me chargeback wise. Decent support in that.
Though, questions wise, they haven’t been super helpful at times. Like saying that my account will be closed if I CASSd out one of my current accounts when I had multiple. Or when the merchant image and name was wrong and they had not a clue what I was on about.

I need overdraft facility to use Chase as main account. Just to be sure all bills are paid for few days before payday. As I get paid 4 weekly

Yeah must just be BACS, I transferred myself some ££ from another account and it landed instantly.

Had my first credit card statement today. It’s a nicely designed statement, very clear and easier to digest than some others.

Interestingly the only method of repayment it mentions is via the app, either as a one off or a recurring payment. There’s no bank details to make an external payment in (which is what I do for a number of my cards).

Minimum payment 2.5%.

Got mine today too and agree the statement is well set out. I believe it accepts payment from the Chase CA only. I don’t know if it’s the main CA or can include any other CAs that you may have. The repayment option means it’s for Chase customers only. Interesting, as I don’t know of any other banks’ CCs that allow repayment from their own CA only.

Flex has BNPL as one of it’s features therefore it’s probably right that it operates that way. What other credit cards are payable from their originating bank’s CA only. It’s not a trick question I’m interested to know.

Other than the two here, I’m not sure there are any.

Revolut possibly (not launched yet here, but Ireland I think it can only be paid by the linked account?)

The weird thing about the HSBC credit card DD is that the reference they use for the payment looks like a valid credit card number but the last 4 digits are different from your actual credit card number.

First Direct do the same, and I queried this with them once. They said that cards have an account number, as well as a card number, and they use the account number for direct debits.

Does anyone have an experience with Chase telephone customer service?

I’ve only ever used the chat

I keep getting reminders that the Boost rate is expiring on the 16th January, so it does not look like there are any plans to extend it. Which is rather annoying as AFAIAW new customers are still being offered 5%.

So I will be making a rational economic decision to ship out what little funds I still have left there, and in various pots. Along with many others, I venture. After all, there are plenty of competitive alternatives out there, that I am using already, so it’s not like I’m starting/moving from scratch.
