I could do without VCs if they just rolled out dark mode. ![]()
I might start wearing sunglasses at night as a workaround
They didn’t recognise Chase’s sort code when I tried to have a credit balance refunded there, so I don’t think it’s in their system. Likely Chase-specific than Amex-specific (in terms of them needing that process).
Yeah, it was weird as they could only refund a credit balance to an account that had made a payment to the card at any point (I sent a payment via standing order from Chase), but they said they couldn’t validate it to process the refund. Had to give them my first direct details as I pay manually from there, even tho I’d literally just made the payment from Chase a few days prior. So their system just didn’t recognise it as a valid sort code despite having received a payment from it.
I set mine up easily.
Been active for a while.
Don’t know why it different for others. You’re not the first I’ve seen say they had difficulty setting up AmEx DD.
Same happened with Starling for me and then my current HSBC Premier account. In fact two or three companies had issues with the HSBC sort code (Interactive Investor and my ISP too). ii wanted a PDF completing and uploading, along with a bank statement, and my ISP just asked me whether I was sure I’d got the sort code correct.
The DDs worked fine once set up.
I’ve have the same issue sort code was’t accepted (60-84-07) ![]()
Really? I have my Barclaycard set up to be paid from a Chase savings account. I have a DD with HSBC, RBS and Halifax credit cards too, so all the main banking groups.
Forgot about that issue. Weird it works sometimes and not others, you’d think if it’s all going through the same system it’d at least be consistent one way or the other.
Not really bizarre, just a new one in their range. I’ve always had 40-11-* in the past few years but was assigned 40-12-* with my new account.
HSBC CS said they’d only started using it recently and it would sort itself out in time.
Use Chase to pay for a sandwich earlier. 7 minutes for the notification to come through. No issues with internet, as I was WhatsApp people throughout and afterwards.
It was 12 months ago, so sadly I cannot give any clarity on that. I would suspect, knowing me, it was “in app”.
My Barclaycard DD comes from a Chase account.
As does American Express, Halifax, Nationwide, Pulse, and Tesco credit cards!
I had 5G and over there I’m generally 80-100meg
definitely a chase thing
You seem to have a lot of delays on notifications. I don’t know phones enough to know why but I’ve literally never had a huge delay from Chase. It’s very odd that you keep having the issues ![]()
Zero issues with any other bank. Revolut is the quickest ![]()
I have had multiple delays from chase on iOS. I have fttp 900mb.
The worst offended is the push for 3ds, it’s always slow to varying degrees.
I just suspect it’s temporary blips with chase or less likely (on iOS) the Apple push service even though other notifications come through without issue.
It’s not a huge deal but it is annoying.
I don’t disbelieve you, but it’s something that I’ve noticed you mention a lot. Way more than I have ever encountered or anyone I know.
Has anyone else experienced a long delay in getting their details checked before having their Chase account opened? Been 24 hours now since I applied, app still sitting on checking. Just gave them a call about it, very friendly customer service person told it might not be until some time next week that I hear anything or that I might get a call from them (again, probably next week) asking for more information (but the department that does that only works 9-5 Monday to Friday)? Anyone else experienced this? thanks.
