I just transferred money from Marcus to Starling, then Starling to Chase.
Definitely not instant, it was about a minute before it showed up. Not really a problem but I’m very used to instant now.

Set off rights area thing but as you will normally be paying way more than 1.5% interest on any loans it’s ordinarily better for them to let you save and borrow at the same time (if for some reason that’s what you want to do).
…and now to start the extremely long winded process of changing my linked account with Marcus to move my savings over…
Monzo should come back hard - maybe offer another coloured card?
Is the savings account also available as a joint savings account, does anyone know?
Mine took 55 minutes earlier.
My first transfer took almost a minute. Guess I got lucky.
It’s funny how things seem to come around full circle, I remember when Marcus first launched with a rate of about 1.5%, which steadily declined (along with everything else…)
Chase making a big push here, especially as everyone else has sub 1% rates, or > 1% rates with restrictions (e.g. max deposit)
Yes, but for a year and you can’t put more than £50 a month in.
EDIT: you can now put up to £150 per month
Yes, thing is Marcus attracted so much in savings they didn’t aggressively need anymore as taking more would put them very close to some U.K. ring-fencing protocol if I remember correctly. Will try find the FT article I read this in ages ago but this is off top of my head.
35 minutes on the phone to open an account cos my bearded face doesn’t match my clean shaven passport from 2016.
Archiving a 0.20% Monzo Shawbrook pot to go for the 1.5% Chase saver account.
£250,000 in total over (upto) 10 Saver accounts
Ah so you can, when did that change?
not sure you can have multiple saver accounts: having added one, I cannot add another (not that I’d want to, but I did try, just for the fun of it )
d’oh. clearly I can’t see - just looked back in the Chase app, and the option to add a 2nd savings account is right there
My partner had issues starting it up but I’m going to put it down to just so many people creating a new account at the same time. I don’t mind generally as it’s not something that day-to-day should occur so I don’t expect any bank to necessarily have the ability to do it at the same time.
Savings is a fickle market… people move for 0.1% so it’s a constant battle of who has the slightly highest rate.
Wow, just got a message from Chase offeing me a savings account at 1.5% AER. Upper limit of 250 K ,Couple that with roundup’s At 5% AER and 1% on all spending for 12 months. With a few exclusions, I just love this bank so much. All our current accounts are now dormant. As previously stated customer services is excellent, no messing around, No try to find a chat button,
No being dissuaded or put off making telephone calls I, appreciate as customer numbers grow this may deteriorate, but until that time I am in Bank heaven! After one year American Express reduced my cashback to 0.5%. So they on zero balance as well. The moral of the story is I’m going to go to the bank that treats me the best. Monzo you need to keep up, stop worrying about bells and whistles and worry about the important things. Like interest!
Some people have for too much time on thier hands
I’d love to know the figure for how much Chase has had transferred in today.
