Yeah GOOGLE should do something about this practice. It’s their issue.
No its not googles fault…
“If I search for a specific hoover in Google”
Its me, I need to be wary of what I am doing, I can be responsible for my own due diligence.
Technically yes.
But I think it’s a rolling state of diligence, starts with “I” then moves to the first place you interact with (Google in this example) then could pass on down through that chain ?
- I
- Website
- Purchase system
- Monzo
The last two could be conflated. But for me the advantages of technology could be harnessed to help those who don’t do their own due diligence (you know people like this, everyone does).
I don’t think this is about proportioning fault either, ultimately, there will always be nefarious people, and ultimately it’s down to ME to be aware of them. But if I’m not, why shouldn’t we expect the very systems that make such nefarious practices exist, be part of the solution?
Good points raised…
There could also be that person who turns up without an EHIC or Canada ETA because Monzo told them it was suspicious, so they thought they didn’t need one!
Tricky to address.
Ha yeah good point.
Ultimately… PEBCAK?
