I did a partial switch because I couldn’t be bothered to contact lots of companies myself. I wanted to keep my old account open, left a few hundred pound in it in case something went wrong and switched all my direct debits to Monzo. I don’t see the risk as long as you can leave enough money in the old account to cover any direct debits that failed to move.
There were no problems and it all went smoothly…
