Bitcoin Savings Pot with Self-Custody Withdrawal Option

In my opinion, Bitcoin has significantly derisked since the ETFs were approved in the US and other countries. It can be volatile, so it’s best to invest with a long time horizon (minimum 4 years).

If you bought £1,000 of Bitcoin on the day that first question was posted (20 April 2016) it would be worth about £140,000 today. :grinning:

It won’t ever be adopted in this way, firstly the payment network simply isn’t fast enough for it to be used this way in the real world. Other coins have already solved this issue, but it won’t be bitcoin if it’s ever mass adopted in this way

I’m curious how you could expect to use crypto outside of a speculative investment or to transfer money across borders (can be quite useful here), both of these ultimately rely on centralised exchanges and banks, where you might aswell just have used GBP in the first place as it won’t be useful in some kind of “zombie apocalypse” scenario

And lastly why do you think Monzo would want to create this feature? I doubt there’s much of a market for it, most of the centralised exchanges like Coinbase are already companies bigger than Monzo itself, and they specialise in doing this.

Crypto requires a huge regulatory compliance burden and attracts problem customers aka criminals regularly, which is why you pay the premium for using Revoluts service which probably delayed their banking licence for a cr
