At the bottom it says “New to Barclays” with steps

Am I missing something obvious with Barclay card - with all my other credit cards you could pay off the balance as incurred. With this it looks like I have to wait under the next payment is due?

Hi, I have always been able pay off my barclaycard anytime I wanted. Is transaction still pending by any chance?

“Other amount” should work as others say here, but if it doesn’t then you can always do a bank transfer. Bank details are on your statement under “ways to pay”, and triple check all the details :grimacing:

Closed my forward account. Had it for about 5 years received one increase in that time to £900. Have Amex/Lloyds cards with much higher limits but as it was oldest card wanted to keep it.

Have seen tons of customers online get upgraded to a rewards card and such but I’ve never had the option and even when closing it they couldn’t offer it.

If what other experiences are occur, in 6 months time I’ll be offered a platinum if I applied :joy: for some reason they just don’t want me as a customer currently

Do Barclaycard reward cardholders get balance transfer offers? Or is that a platinum card feature only (as I suspect it is). Customer services cannot answer this :upside_down_face:.

Everyone gets balance transfer offers, all the time! (if they are eligible etc I guess). I have a standard Barclaycard Visa and the send me letters and emails all the time.

I get balance transfer offers every month without fail.

Interesting, thanks all! For those on the Rewards card and the other Barclaycards, are your transfer offers similar to the ones for Platinum? I’m currently seeing 0% till October 2024.

I’ve not used a balance transfer, not sure if I’ll ever have the need to, but for some reason I like to have the option without opening a new card .

I’ve had my platinum card since Jan 2015 and still get these monthly offers.

Definitely thinking the platinum is a poor choice too if other cards offer the same features plus more (like cashback, no FX fees). Trying to deduce if the transfer offers are also the same.

I’ve got a 0% until January 2024. Going back a few months they all seem to be 12 months. Last year (also Rewards card) they were 18 months. Similar offers to when I had my Platinum card.

Mine vary, usually 12 months, 18 months or 2 years - I’ve had all sorts through. To be honest I usually just bin them.

Easy to find those offers with any card if your credit rating is okay anyway.

I have credit card only - online I log in at barclaycard.co.uk rather than barclays.co.uk, I have a username there. Mobile wise I have the Barclaycard app, but I think it’s identical to the Barclays app (maybe different initial login process). Can’t speak for accessing a mortgage though. Would you not have a Membership number for barclays.co.uk?

Really, I’ve never been able to log in to barclays.co.uk with my credit card number, says it’s an invalid number and to try again. I’ve not got a membership number on any of my statements either so I can’t log in anywhere there.

Any idea on when to expect an update for the Barclaycard app? By update I mean design overhaul of the UI, since they have a new design language on some parts of the website, and their other apps (Barclaycard for business) but still keep the old design language within the app

Our guess would be as good as yours on that one unfortunately. Their app is in need of an overhaul though, it’s one of the worst ones I have installed.

The other thing that I don’t like about this app is the Spending section is just broken. In the Barclaycard app (as opposed to the identical Barclays app) I only have a credit card, and trying to use the Spending feature shows this:

I get that they don’t support these insights for the credit card, but just don’t show the button in that case, and definitely show a clearer error if you are going to let me navigate to it. It’s been like this for a couple of years now, and it’s things like this where I don’t understand how nobody on the product team has picked up on how poor a UX this is.

Ive only got a barclaycard account with them (never had a barclays current account) and the insights spend works fine for me in the app.

Im not a big fan of barclaycard due to the no access to google pay and the faff you have to go through if you close a barclaycard account and then come back years later to get online banking working again is ridiculous (apparently its a known issue and you have to call up for them to intervene).

I have had some good balance transfer offer over the years though which is why i use them on and off.

Oh that’s interesting! I raised this issue somewhere here a little while ago and some other people were experiencing the same, so it’s not just me that has it at least… maybe it’s an issue with iOS only

Also…

For the Barclays ANDROID app, spending insights include credit card transactions breakdown per spending category.

HOWEVER

Barclays IPHONE app only shows current account transactions broken down per spending, NOT credit card ones.

Very strange indeed.
