Iām curious to know what took quite so long for that to happen - some weird legacy Barclays nonsense? Contractual wrangling? Mercury not yet in retrograde?
It is bizarre. They launched the card over three years ago. They managed to get their Visa cards onboarded in June 24. So over a year later, they managed to get Mastercard working too. Is it really that hard to integrate with Google Wallet?
Also, why do I need a pamplet of T&Cs in the post every time I add a Barclaycard to a mobile wallet?
I just file them with my copies of the Direct Debit guarantee.

Whatever happened with Barclays Cashback? Almost been a month without rewards, at this point might as well just close the card and keep Lloyds ultra in perpetuity.
That got closed off ages ago unless your card itself offers cashback.
You mean the external cashback service? Theyāre moving it to be integrated to the app.

The Barclaycard version has been closed and is being integrated into the current account version if you have it. I believe itās only available with Premier or Blue Rewards.
Barclaycard Cashback Rewards closed on 1 October. Its replacement is being launched later this month.

Was that ever available as a standalone product? I vaguely remember being switched to it when Barclaycard acquired the Egg credit card business.
My (legacy) āEggā Barclaycard Cashback (0.5%) is still working as usual.

Yes itās black.
There was a time in the mid 2010s when Barclaycard issued a combo Barclaycard Amex+Barclaycard Visa (to replace the Egg), then after a few years the B Amex was retired and only the B Visa remained (as Barclaycard Cashback).
I also still have the legacy āMorgan Stanleyā then āGoldfishā card now also Barclaycard Cashback similar to the legacy āEggā.

Yes I had the duo black Barclaycard too but not because of egg. It was available as a retention offer if you called to close your card and said you were looking for cashback deals.
Cashback Barclaycards will still work as normal; nothingās changed for those. The Barclaycard Cashback Rewards scheme was something extra that you could add on to any Barclaycard. It is/was like the reward schemes offered by Lloyds, Halifax, Virgin, and probably most other banks.
I tried to apply for a current account but first it said my phone number was in use (possibly from an old attempt) and then couldnāt verify me when I tried with a different number. Any one had any luck getting Barclays to delete old profiles and then trying again or should I just give up?
Youād probably need to go in branch to sort it. They will find your old profile.

Yes in the app it now looks like the plain bland Blue one
