Thank you. I’m getting there hopefully.

It’s so draining being in debt. Hopefully it’s a little easier for you with the dmp.

Spoke to the OR today. She’s confident that I won’t have to pay into an IPA and discussed the nil tax code.
Basically what I would pay in tax from employment I will be giving it to the OR rather than HMRC.

Feeling a little lighter after that phone call. She (Maddie), the OR, was lovely and totally understanding. I honestly expected a dragon and got a butterfly :butterfly:

So for anyone going through what I am my only advice is to be as open and honest as possible. Even I had made a figure error on my application and there was no judgement. She even said that they understand how stressed and anxious people are when completing these applications that they expect some errors.

I will update again when I know what happens with my Monzo account. Although I’m pretty confident that it will continue to function as normal.

Just got to thank each and every one of you for commenting with advice, for the support and not being judgemental. I’m honestly so glad I came here to this community/forum for advice.

Monzo account hasn’t frozen and will remain open.

Evening all,

I am just about to be declared bankrupt with huge debts.

I have several bank accounts, Monzo being one of them. I spoke to their customer service agent today and advised my account would not be frozen. However, I did not leave the conversation feeling very confident.

Does anyone have any experience of their account being frozen on a bankruptcy order? The last thing I need right now is to transfer everything over to Monzo and not being able to access the account.

Many thanks

Hiya, I was also worried but my Monzo remained open and functional throughout.
I think it makes a difference if you have any debt with Monzo.

Monzo can remove lending from your account so it becomes a ā€œbasicā€ account. Most banks offer these for those under bankruptcy etc.

I don’t think they’d even know you were redundant.

Not all jobs fire you for bankruptcy, mostly only financial/insurance.

Probably a few other industries, but otherwise if there’s no risk to the business it’s not really an issue.

Pretty sure even within financial services there’s a threshold they would consider acceptable.

Are you mixing redundancy with bankruptcy?

Redundancy is effectively being fired. You can’t be fired for redundancy.

For bankruptcy or IVA I can’t do my job, though this is for applying. Unsure what they would do it if I became bankrupt now I’m employed.
