Is there any plan to expose Under 16s accounts through the developer API?
It’d be useful for parents like me building their own tools (allowance tracking, chores-to-pocket-money automations, etc.) to be able to:
List a child’s Under 16s account and read its balance/transactions
Move money from the parent’s current account into the Under 16s account programmatically
Totally understand if there are safeguarding/regulatory reasons this is deliberately kept out of the API, just wanted to check if it’s been considered, and flag the demand if not. Thanks!
The under 16s account is a special ‘pot’ under the parent account. This structure eludes to no API access to them for said reasons. While I can’t state this in concrete, I’ve managed 2x under 16s accounts for several years and I like to tinker. Couldn’t get anywhere near the child accounts via an available API.
Manual judgement and transferring of funds it was/is!
I’d also love this functionality. I don’t want my kids to have smartphones - instead I’d like to set up a little e-ink screen in their bedrooms that shows their bank balance, recent transactions, and suggested chores they can do to earn money.
