Could Monzo please add the ability to turn off the “Spending per card” summary notifications. I don’t need 4 or 5 notifications within minutes of each other to tell me stuff I already know.
At the moment Barclays, capital one, monzo etc do not allow doing that - specifically let another app take full control of the data. Note that it is really read-only view of transactions. If you try to transfer money from connected another bank current account it is quite a long way to pull money to monzo that opens the other banks app and requires to go through their payment flow. Only skips amount and payee details.
They are all scared of letting one bank control funds of the other bank.
However the bit about paying from the pot, that would be cool. I think in the Netherlands bunq has that. They have like upto 50 pots and one can pay in/out of the specific pots when paying with phone app NFC (not even Google pay). So in theory it should be possible for monzo to create the ability to do that with pots.
I think some of the UI changes around expired connected accounts are good, but to me this shouldn’t be “Add”
I’ve already added my accounts. Re-add? Re-authenticate? Authenticate? Refresh?
Agreed.
I got this today and an email reminder too. Never had that before.
What happens when you “readd” does it pull all the old data again or reset?
If it was the later it would be much better if monzo could be more proactive and ask you to reauthenitcate before it expires
@tjvr
A few app updates later
When I add
or
&
, Monzo shows all accounts and
account is in a good position all transaction are shown
When I add
& CHF
, Monzo only shows
account properly.
is not loading and CHF is not shown at all
I’m not even going to attempt to decipher this emoji based gibberish, but good luck with it whatever it is.
Pretty clearly talking about different currencies. It’s not that obscure.
Exactly, thank you
Was the spoiler tag needed?
This seems rather objective. Perhaps for people with better eyesight than I have it is clearer, all I see is a mess of emojis. Are you young Ethan? Perhaps if so you make more sense of it… and have better eyes.
So I recently got a new AMEX which I have been using pretty regularly. I was wondering if, at any point, there are plans for me to be able to do a bill split within the app for a transaction under a connected card? Currently, I have to do a manual payment request instead, which works, but I would prefer to be able to do a bill split instead.
This exact thing would make me sign up for plus
This makes a lot of sense and would be a big feature in my opinion in terms of popularity!
Whenever I make a payment on my credit card that I would normally have spent on my debit card, I put that amount into my credit cards pot, so it would be good to split these transactions if the above isn’t possible
If you close an account do the connected account and transactions still show up for when the account was open? Thinking of getting rid of first direct (call centre took 20 mins to pick up as ios15 beta means I can’t get on the app and regular saver now 1% so pointless) but want to know if data will still show up after the account is dead?
That seems pretty good for a regular saver at the moment, no?
True but my nutmeg is generally doing better. Also due to the way the regular saver works you lock away the £3,600 over a year and you will get back about £18. So the flexibility to have the money in hand seems more worth it.
Now, for me, one little thing is missing. Make it possible for me to select what linked accounts should contribute transactions to my budgets. Before this exists, the “connected accounts” feature is pretty pointless IMHO.
Hi @daniel79 and welcome
I believe you can already select which accounts you want to use as part of the trends. But for me, when I selected my other account to link, that application asked which accounts Monzo should have access to.
So, I (believe) that this is done at the end bank, not via Monzo - but happy to be corrected
