Yeah that’s true it is currently achievable with IFTTT, but that’s only for certain categories isn’t it? I’ve only seen groceries, transport etc. Would be nice to have them all unless there’s an option to allow this to be customised in IFTTT?
It was groceries you mentioned.
I know, as an example. But as I explained above it would be nice to have all categories and for this to be customisable and automatic on purchasing an item.
I attempted to make something for this on IFTTT where you selected the category from a list (even a spreadsheet or something) but I couldn’t work out how I could pull in a list from a service like google sheets to be able to allow “select a category from drop down” before then selecting the pot.

IFTTT is great, but doesn’t have the same flexibility that I’m looking for.
Just to add to this great idea it would be good to be able to add a comment, note or reference to a pot transaction. If it is say a pot you are using to collect money from others into for an event then you could tag each deposit with the name of the person it is from or if it is being used as a budget for a project you can tag each withdrawal with the ref for the item it is spent on and so on. The uses are endless just like tagging deposits and withdrawals in the main accounts. This would be good whether it is a direct pot transaction or a manual one.
