Iāve dealt with this topic elsewhere were similar issues occur. Itās common and easy for people to get carried away online when your not right in front of someone.
People have to remember that not only are other people going to have different opinions than you, but also that thereās nothing wrong with differing opinions even if you donāt like the sound of them.
You also have to remember that you canāt go into a discussion with the goal of changing someoneās mind, because you probably wonāt.
What you can do is have a civil discussion about those opinions and what you share and donāt share in common without reverting to attacks on that person because you donāt like them or what they have to say.
It does work, but everyone has to participate.
