That will be interesting. Iāve initiated the switch (with DDs in place) but currently on holiday and the internet banking details hadnāt arrived before I left so I have no real way of knowing what the status of the account is yet! Havenāt done the transfer yet either because I want to see that the money has actually gone inā¦
I was in the process of doing the switch yesterday but for some reason I got distracted and wondered off to do something else. Then remembered while cleaning the kitchen that I needed to make the switch. Alas no free money for me!
Iām in the same boat. Havenāt received card or banking details yet in the post so will not transfer funds until I do so.
The account has actually opened though and I do have switch date confirmed so Iām assuming theyāll honor all processes started before the offer was pulled.
Quick Rant!
I am very pis*ed off with Monzo as they told me that my Switch to Santander has been denied and they havenāt given me a reason or anything.
Now I canāt get the switching money from Santander as Monzo denied the switch for some reason.
I have looked at the Monzo Account and I donāt see anything that could stop me.
I am not overdrawn, I closed my Investment Pot, I moved out all of my savings. I dont know what the hell Monzo is doing and not letting me switch.
I am going into my local Santander Branch tomorrow. To try and sort all of this out and maybe hopefully if i explain to Santander what has happened then maybe I can get the money. Iām not sure thou!
Rant Over!
Santander wonāt be able to resolve the switch issue if Monzo are stopping it. Unless it relates to some details not quite matching up, i.e parties on account / their names, things of that nature. If it is something like that, they can re-key the switch. If not, itād be pointless as Monzo would push it back.
They should be able to find some rationale, when I worked these, weād get an error code and check it against a wiki for each bank. As for the incentive, this would be up to complaints.
You could complain to Monzo (as in both). But try get it resolved with both first! I wish you the best of luck, Iām incredibly tired but hope iāve touched on all that is relevant ā paging @Carlo1460
Iām not seeing any documentation on the website, pertaining to the Ā£220 CASI. Has this ended?
Yep. A lot of offers and limited edition stuff with Santander donāt last too long.
I meant HSBC.
Donāt know where I got Santander from then
If monzo have denied the switch, opposed to something just gone wrong, then raising a complaint to Monzo would be the first step.
It could be name, date of birth, address, a minor spelling mistake or wrong date entered.
If thereās actually no error and it was accident, youāre now at financial loss (switching bonus), as well as distress and inconvenience, so it will likely be upheld (no guarantee), unless there is an error as noted above - the data held by Santander not matching monzo.
Good spot. Wayback Machine has the offer withdrawn on the 28th March, so it appears it lasted 15 days!
Tried to move my Ā£1500 to and from Santander in two lots and the second payment has been held. Now on hold to the fraud team. Not got a great impression so far!
Happened to me with Lloyds the first time.
20 minutes and counting!
Not a great impression for protecting your account from fraud or laundering?
Blimey.
Fair point
On tāother hand, that caution is why they can afford to do the refund guarantee when you do something stupid (or just get caught out). Basically they turn up the sensitivity for fraud knob.
Has anyone received the First Direct payout yet? If Iām reading the conditions correctly it should be today for those of use who have met the requirements.
Edit: the 20th is actually tomorrow. So maybe Monday?!
Update: just got paid out by FD. On a Sunday afternoon!
(And yes, the notification worked perfectly)
first direct closes tomorrow evening.
