We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

I also had this issue - was expecting the joint account to appear in the “View All” section. Had to come on here to figure out I needed to long press (which is really not intuitive!)

@Paulw It’s an intermittent bug :bug: which are the worst to track down and fix. My pot is fine in the new layout.

I’m getting it since the new layout but I think it’s just IFTTT movements for me

Hi Bruno, there’s an unfinished sentence in over draft charges section - “If your balance” ???

It does say view all and have an icon of a card stack, so I think it’s reasonable to expect to see your joint/business accounts there.

Unfortunately this is a sign of a deeper structural problem which isn’t going away. Pots are shown in the ui attached to a current account, not a user and are not quite accounts (though they behave like them mostly, and sometimes do represent external accounts). Maybe one day they’ll be seen as accounts, and all accounts will get the same treatment. At the moment they have this weird trichotomy between accounts, internal pots, external pots, with inconsistent treatment of all.

I’m not even sure what view all means in this context, what do you see if you hit view all? This view all I find really confusing in this design, from the stack of cards I assumed view all accounts, but it seems like it is view all pots attached to this account, is that it? So some external accounts, some credit cards, some internal subaccounts.

Since you’re completely revamping the ui monzo why not show all accounts the user has access to here? Then you can name it accounts or ditch the label, everything is in one place, and you could even switch the feed to a feed of transactions for a single account when chosen. I really think at some point everything should just be an account, attached to one or more users.

I would say with all the new accounts being integrated, saving pots etc “my accounts” is actually a vey very key part of the app, it’s where someone will go to see their financial portfolio, what accounts are open, how much in each etc so well worth a navigation tab!

Exactly, in fact I’d go further and put all accounts there or in view all, inc business and joint, external cards, external pots, internal pots. They will all deserve top level status in time.

A hidden global switch for some accounts, and lots of different names/treatments for accounts is a mistake IMO and will stop the app developing into a true financial hub.

My savings pot (investec) is now showing as a regular savings pot with the new UI and doesn’t show my earned interest for the month anymore?

I haven’t read all the posts here but wanted to see if anyone else was having the same problem?

I mean you were told there were bugs still in the new design etc.

Yes I’m well aware of that fact however read my post.

This bug was BEFORE the new design release.

So I have been upgraded to the new layout. Off the bat I must say it’s a welcome change, very much so it adds to the minimalistic feel the app should have had from day one. Gone are the days of the awful looking graph, and of which in my books never used anyway.

Moving the Pots and Saving pots into its own home, separates itself from the home screen, out of the way and there when it needs to be. However why the big Monzo Card on the home Screen? Maybe a setting in Labs allowing you to alter whether you want the card there or not or more importantly being able to horizontally scroll to see pots like before. But the difference with this idea is that you wouldn’t need to moves tabs like before, adding all important features into one HOME SCREEN. Take queues from the company that does minimalism at it’s finest “Apple”, they went years with one button on their phone and still to this day use the trusty home screen (that incorporates all into one). The gesture to reveal the card is a very good touch but why not add more. The key in my eyes is in the home screen!

Oh yeah and how could I forget, DARK MODE PLEASE!!

Summary :ant: to report. I don’t know if it’s previously been mentioned.

Setting budget to zero gets reset to last months spent.

Steps to recreate:

  1. find a category that says underneath “£X spent last month”

  2. change to zero

  3. scroll up or down so row is off the screen

  4. budget goes back to the amount spent last month not zero

Good to see the sneak peek @bruno

Does this mean we might soon be able to re-order pots too?

Yes, reported by @Paulw 8 posts above yours  a couple of hours ago.

:android::bug: #2

Version: 2.45.0
Device: Pixel 3XL (Android 9.0)

App Shortcuts on Android need updating :eyes: the “Send Money” works (takes you to the payments screen) but “Summary” doesn’t work. The deep_link no longer takes you to Summary either :see_no_evil: (monzo://breakdown)

Has anyone else lost their overdraft on the new look version?

Its under ‘View All’ (accounts), under ‘Borrowing’

I really like this idea. I find the view all in the top left corner the least convenient location for a screen I navigate to frequently.

Thanks for this, I’m running the standard version of the app with the new configuration.

How do I get a TestFlight invite?

Thanks

Steve

From what I’ve seen of the new design it looks like a massive improvement on the current home screen, however I feel there’s something missing.

One of the biggest features I use, as student using Monzo, is the budgeting section. It helps me to categorise what I’ve spent to make sure I have enough money for food :joy:. This feature works well but I feel it could be more visible as to what category each payment falls into. I only tend to notice if something has been categorised wrong when I’m suddenly massively overspent in an area. I feel the way to see whether each transaction has been tagged correctly isn’t visible/streamlined enough (you have to open each transaction to check).

Maybe there could be a coloured line/dot alongside each transaction (on the main screen) that would correlate with each spending category? I feel like this would really help those of us who rely on this feature to make it from month to month on a tight budget. (Something similar is already in place for the expenses option.)

A cool way to change categories could maybe utilise 3D Touch/long press and then slide up/down to change categories?

Loving all the changes taking place
