So today I made a large card payment online and was asked to verify it in the app! Thought that was pretty cool, never seen that before

That’s interesting. Seems they’re actually putting some effort into it all now.
It certainly does. There’s been an update every week for the past month.
They added “report a card as lost or stolen” within the app now however no option to freeze it.
App Store rating has went up to 4.4 now as well.

Also just noticed today it’s now possible to order new cards and replace missing ones from in the app (one less conversation on the phone 
)
I’ve ordered one to replace my B card that’s a bit worse for wear.

Seen this image on a news article recently about the company behind the look of the rebrand. That app is either a mock up or could it be a look into what might be coming soon!?
There is also these different looking cards although I’m not sure exactly what their purpose would be or whether I like them

Cards are nice. I liked how tandem offered different colours too! It was such a good card design. Pastel vibrant colours with flat patterns. Kind of wonder if it is a trend or even the same design studio.

I have VM credit and debit card in my collection of fintech’s. I’ve been really impressed them. It’s a smart app, good push notification system and 2FA. Pretty decent considering the back end is a legacy bank

I now see they’re due to launch business banking accounts next month.
From what I gather, it’s going to run off a completely different app rather than the backend of the CYBG apps at the moment.

Interesting, perhaps it will be the backend of the cancelled VM incubation-fintech instead.
It is a bit unusual that if you are a business, personal, savings and credit card customer of the same bank you would need three apps (and the savings wouldn’t even necessarily be in any of them)!
NatWest or Barclays, for example, would have it all in just one app and a few other banks have separate business and personal apps. VM’s approach is too much of a mess.

Just got this with a 0% purchase deal. I was sort of hoping to register for the app and get a virtual account number straight away and use it this month 
Just a 14 day wait for the card to arrive…
Did you remember to set the threshold level for alerts to £0.00 when switching them on?
There are also separate on switches for different transaction types - make sure they are all on.

I’m sure notifications only work for purchases and not money in or Direct Debit payments.

Yeah, sorry I thought @andrew_fishy meant using the card - one workaround is to set a “high balance alert” very low so you get a notification for that when money comes in?

Just had my expenses paid to Virgin Money and no alert 
I am loving my experience with Virgin Money! Similar features to Monzo and I actually trust Virgin Money! There are even features Monzo doesn’t have such as cheque imaging!
