It was my first coaster so I have a soft spot for it too. Though, it clattered your ears if you didnāt firm your neck up.
What do we think about the name Hyperia for Project Exodus?
This is exciting news, and regardless of whether it happens or not, itās going to force Merlin to up their game.
And their pricing
Off to Efteling in the Netherlands next year, anyone else been, seen a lot of great reviews, but any first hand experience would be grand
Look at Themepark worldwide, good channel for that sort of stuff
Ooo! That means we might get a Nintendo Land too!
Thatās the one with live / VR Mario kart right? Iād definitely go for that.
Yep!
The final piece is in! Itās been cool going past every few days and seeing this go up!
whoa thatās huge
I just drove past again a few minutes ago and Saw looks absolutely tiny next to it!
So the first impressions of Hyperia all seem to be very very good.
Iām looking forward to riding it. Living so close means I get the luxury of being able to watch the queue times, pick a day when itās relatively quiet or has fast track available and go then.
Speaking of living so close, the local resident Facebook group was quite something last night. I donāt think anyone here was expecting to see planes flying above the town spewing out sparks across the skyline.
In fact, when I first saw it out the window my first thought living so close to Heathrow was that a plane had got into trouble taking off, not that it was the press opening ceremony of a rollercoasterā¦
Thereās been a a very positive response from local residents to the U.K. Universal theme park proposal. Really hoping it goes ahead.
I hope it goes ahead, a universal park in the UK would be epic
It lasted one and a half days.
I had a half-day planned for next week to try and go on a quieter day, but Iāll push that back. Trouble is weāre entering school trip season now, which is the worst time to visit any theme park anywhere.
What happened to it?
Nobody knows. They were getting ready to open on Saturday then initially announced that it wouldnāt be open again until Wednesday. Thatās now been extended. A crane was seen on site over the weekend, but besides that nothing has been said.
Thorpe Park obviously donāt owe anyone an explanation, but after theyāve been so open and communicative during the build, this is odd.
Have they done their sums wrong, and need to reinforce sections of the coaster due to recorded stresses being higher than calculated ones? Or do they need to recalibrate any of it due to something being a bit off and giving an unpleasant ride experience?
Or is it just amorphous delays that arenāt significant? See also: the Co-op arena ongoing disaster launch.
Not sure what you mean by ongoing
