Introducing new perks on Monzo Perks and Max 🍿🍕 [Uber One just added!]

Just to double check, do I need to use my Max card with Uber or can it also be my Flex card to get the cashback?

Try use your flex, you’ll see any discounts applied for meeting the criteria if eligible.

I assume it works by BIN.

Would prefer omniplex.. more locations

I cannot see this discussed - the vue discount code T&C seems to suggest if can be used on better seats ‘for a fee’ but in reality that is impossible?

Is that because the other seats are set to 0 using the code?

What are the ‘better seats’? May depend on the cinema - where I’ve been going the code gets you the best available

The lux reclining seats ? If you enter the code you cannot buy.

It’s not really clear that you can upgrade your seat. It mentions which cinemas you can’t book recliner seats without an additional fee, but it doesn’t say you can upgrade them by paying a fee. It does mention you can pay a fee for VIP, 3D & IMAX. The fact that it explicitly states that but doesn’t state the upgrading of seats I took to mean you can’t… but I’ve never needed to try because the cinema I go to it works on all the seat types. I’ve never needed to try the VIP/3D/IMAX either so I don’t even know how it works and how much the fee is meant to be.

Ive upgraded to VIP seats for £1 using the code.

Yeah, I always get the VIP seats and it just makes me pay the difference with the discount applied. My cinema doesn’t have anything above that though.

So how exactly does Uber One work? I put in a journey and had Apple Pay as payment, fare being £24.99:

Switched to Monzo and the fare decreased but the “original” fare it says I’m getting discounted from is higher than the original fare without Uber One:

(And yes, if I switch back to Apple Pay the fare returns to £24.99)

It’s still a saving but surely my Uber One discount should from down from £24.99? Where has this £25.15 come from?

Wonder if it’s related to the fees the card processor charges. Is odd though unless you’ve some Uber credit floating around.

Good point. I checked and I have 74p credit. Which means the Uber One original fare has been discounted with my already existing credit.

Is that how it’s supposed to work? If I had 0p credit then the Uber One option is more expensive than just ordering regularly.

Think someone else picked this up; maybe monzo takes a cut of each order hence can offer it through Max

~0.65%?

Could uberone not just be added as a tile there instead? Seems very poor to take you to a pop up with a Uberone tile on it.

Strangely, I have a similar layout but with Uber One prominent and the Train app as a ‘view one more’ selection:

Can anyone advise how the Uber One signup works - does Monzo give a code that can be added to a new/existing Uber account or does it link to you some other way?

Thanks.

I can’t remember the exact process, but my existing Uber account was upgraded to Uber One after a bit of faffing about.

You just tap from the Monzo app and it’ll take you to the Uber app so be sure eats or standard uber is installed.
