I don’t think it’s necessarily fishy, unless they’re harvesting emails and names for some elaborate thing. I just think it’s gathering support for literally nothing at this point, and eventually it’s going to need value associated with it somehow and that means people are going to have to involve actual money with it somehow. But there’s basically nothing to show for it right now.
At the moment it’s like one of those 90s chain letters. They claim this is building support but it’s just building an email database and a flimsy promise of future gains.

Although the product is dubious their idea of approving referrals is a nice attempt to limit/prevent people from gaming the system by spamming their link everywhere.
