Monzo need to allow DIY investments.
I’d love to invest in some passive accumulating Vanguard index ETFs like S&P 500 / FTSE all world, not actively managed Blackrock funds.

What makes you think Monzo would be competitive in this area, that they “need” to do this? Better left to an app/company with this as its focus, surely?
Monzo’s strategy is to meet customer’s money needs in one app.
So… one tactic they could implement is by introducing more funds for DIY investors.
The CEO has mentioned more asset classes are coming so I’m hopeful
