Go to Preferences → Users and you can add their name there I think as a work around.

Got it - thanks. Shame some have to behave in such ways.
I wish it worked properly, as in they didn’t appear at all, instead of the “ignored comment” thing.

I’d imagine this is by flagging? Although I don’t think this is switched on by default and you have to wait until reaching a higher TL which is bizarre!
If you scroll to the dawn of time and find a previous message to him, you can still respond to those.
