I don’t mind the marginal difference in exchange rates, but I need the duo currency statements and country-by-country trip summary so Monzo is still the best so far.
It’s also nice to be able to look back at all of your trips by a simple search for “your trip". ![]()
Wise was a big faff, I found myself distracted by watching for the exchange rates to come down for best time to top up, and the app doesn’t show transactions details simultaneously in GBP so I only use it for transfers. It’s also not FSCS protected so as soon as my trip finished I withdrew all of the remaining balance.
Haven’t used Revolut abroad yet but I like how they show world map under Analytics and when you tap on it, there’s a summary for number of trips, countries and how much was spent.
What I don’t like is they apply 1% markup for all weekend spendings, and there’s a £1000 fee-free cap if you’re on Standard plan.
They also won’t combine multiple currencies to complete a transaction, unlike Wise.
