Generally with most bot chats just type speak to an agent, it’ll skip all the crap and get you through to someone. That’s all I ever do when I can’t be bothered with the automated stuff.
I always do that, I think it’s only one provider that always says none available, though not sure which.
If you have an iPhone try messaging them on iMessage. They have an official account and I was helped really fast.
A few questions to verify you and I got a reply within the hour:
I don’t understand why barclaycard USA has Google pay and UK doesn’t. Only home grown android app in the UK.
This is an insane amount rage build up. They make it so difficult to get in touch.
What do you expect with Hermes?
True. Bad enough finding where they put your parcel, never mind finding someone to help find your parcel.
I’ve been waiting 9 months for a parcel. They refuse to acknowledge its lost. Just keep saying they’ll try to deliver it in 48 hours and even saying that every week since last year.
Luckily it was only a £7 item but it’s still not the point.
On another note. I got something delivered to the locker. Scanned my qr code and someone else’s parcel was in there! It was some foundation instead of my slippers the worst thing was that the address on the parcel wasn’t even in the same town as me or the locker I collected from.
Opened my Sainsbury’s Bank app this morning and up popped the “add to Apple Wallet” page. I’ve been waiting for them to support Apple Pay for ages, so I’m pleased that they’ve finally caught up.
Now added to both iPhone and Watch
That card won’t trouble the card design thread for long
I’m just pleased to have it in my Apple Wallet, regardless of the design
Thanks for posting. Been waiting for this for ages too
Looks like a loyalty card with all them circles.
Collect all 39 stamps
Well technically they can, just don’t want to. Seems petty, but unsure of the impact vs the £50.
Would that hard search cause you to lose out on more favourable upcoming rates ie mortgage etc if you were to apply?
Lloyds were always lenient on removing hard searches (from working for them), whereas other banks don’t seem to be so flexible.
I would say it’s more about the principal around it tbf. Even just getting them a slap on the wrists would be worth it.
Yes, you have up to 6 months from the final response to take it to the ombudsman for review.
Yeah you can still keep it, their final response was here, take £50 and that’s the end of it from us.
The letter should also state your rights to take it to the ombudsman and they aren’t going to say give them the money back in a case like this.
My understanding, and I could be wrong, is the ombudsman can only give a view on what is fair for both sides, and you choose which you prefer to settle on if they feel Barclays weren’t fair enough, they could also say they’ve been too fair, and an apology would suffice (you’d still keep the £50), unless you agreed with the ombudsman and wanted (by choice) to pay the goodwill back.
The latter is unlikely to ever happen in most instances
A very divided opinion from this I’m sure.
This.
I would agree that it would be unwise to rely on an overdraft as your only financial security but access to reasonably affordable borrowing (overdraft or credit card, for example) might be enough to help you through unexpected crises like cars or white goods failing, or a month without a pay cheque for whatever reason.
Yes, you are pushing your problems down the line, but sometimes that is sensible and manageable.
It would be preferable to have savings rather than borrowing more but not everyone can afford this.
