So you’re switching from Barclays, just because of the notifications, which you’ve already agreed that you don’t really need, to Monzo, which you’ve said multiple times you don’t like because the app is too cluttered.

Such things make me keep all accounts open, just swing to another when one annoys me.

It was Barclays that revealed the impulsive side of me last year. They were cutting my credit limit each month for no reason. Out of frustration I closed the credit card even though it had 9 more months of purchases and BT balance, CASSed current account to Lloyds, closed business account too.
I felt good after doing that.
Not sure if I will return, may be if they do another switch bonus where I am eligible. I am sure I will be eligible, with the way they have user profiles.

Which I explained:

I can remove pretty much everything from my Home Screen within Monzo now that I didn’t want there. This was part of the problem.

Lloyds notifications are just as broken.

There’s not really any need for such high profile businesses to have very poor app designs when they want to steal the competition from Monzo and more so Revolut.

Did Barclays just bin off all merchant data?

Not one in my history when there were plenty before. Most certainly Greggs and McDonald’s. Octopus energy doesn’t have it either.

I can’t say I’ve ever noticed, to be honest. I only use my Barclays account for regular bills.

Wouldn’t the amount of the bill be sufficient for you to know which bill it is?

Sure you could know but if you can display the alert, why not display the company it’s going to. it feels a fairly intuitive thing to me.

The biggest problem for me is that I receive two amounts of monthly interest in my joint Premier account from 2 Barclays ISAs and these amounts are similar, but don’t say which ISA it applies to. The only way to find out is via the wealth hub on my wife’s app and my app. It should be a lot easier than this.

Got a text today saying I qualified for the £400 switch into Premier, didn’t expect that as I had a Barclays account before but hey, I’ll take that for the win
