I’m just happy they added Google Wallet support. Far more important to me than spending notifications
Least helpful.
Was gonna use the Platinum as my day to day, which would mean manually clearing the spending balance every statement (can’t collect in full due to balance transfers).
But annoying HSBC doesn’t show pending for credit card, I do rely on Apple wallet for the balance/payments instead, but I’d rather the app.
Could also just pay down nationwide, but doesn’t make sense clearing a 13 month 0% offer to a 31 month.
I’ve enabled push notifications in the Barclaycard app but have never received any of the things it mentions in your screenshot!
Get a Lloyds or Halifax credit card. They show pending payments and send instant notifications.
Not ideal but HSBC do show the available balance which includes the value of pending transactions.
I don’t think I have ever got a timely notification from the Lloyds or Halifax… they are usually delayed in my expensive
That has been a problem, but they seem to have improved a lot recently. I used my Halifax credit card several times on Saturday and I got an instant notification each time. I’ve done several transfers from my Lloyds account today and, again, I got instant notifications. I’m hoping this means the delays are a thing of the post.
Having some lovely downtime on their app, online banking and payments, on payday, which always works out well for that bank and media
It’s not payday for everybody.
True, but it is for millions no doubt.
Plus self assessment tax payment final day
Shit, better file my return!
(jk it’s paid)
They usually owe me money
Was trying to file yesterday and couldn’t get my transaction history to load in app but luckily I was able to view statements on online banking. Close call!
Oh dear
Kind of a disconnect in the article between all the customers who can’t buy food or energy and
“Our ATMs are unaffected by this technical issue so customers can withdraw cash and use their cards to make payments.”
I remember Monzo being outed for offering the same supportive advice a few years back.
Pretty sure this is the advice most banks would give.
I mean, if they could help, then there wouldn’t be a problem with their IT in the first place, would there?
I wonder if our is the important word there. There are zero Barclays ATMs on the island here. Would the card still work in someone else’s ATM?
Good point.
Also, the comment about their card working doesn’t mention whether or not their POS terminals are working.
